Album Chinchon:
In September 2015 we were invited to the wedding of our nephew Martijn with his Spanish bride Silvia in the charming town of Chinchon, 45 kilometers southeast of Madrid. Chinchon is not so big, but beautifully situated on the arid central plateau of Spain. The village appeared to be a tourist attraction, for the weekend was busy with day-trippers from Madrid. Unfortunately, the 'Plaza Mayor' marred by the bleachers for bullfighting, that still takes place in several villages in Spain during the summer. In the week after our return a final battle would take place. The unanswered question was, whether it is a typical feast for the Spanish, or still maintained by the hypocritical tourists and day trippers.
In any case, the town itself is worth a visit and the reason for our visit, the "Boda" (marriage) was a very nice event.
