Title: 'Wall of Fire'

An inferno of smoke and fire drew the weekend of April 13th through Valparaíso.

The sun couldn’t barely illuminate the Chilean port, 110 kilometers west of the capital Santiago, while the fierce fire were advancing the historic center. The brightly colored homes in the center, which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, were spared.

But against the dry hills built suburbs, two thousand wooden houses went in flames by the fire. Fifteen porteños, as the residents of Valparaiso are named, perished.
